The vast majority of people worldwide profess and practice a faith. Faith is a way humans try to understand the meaning of their lives and the mysteries that lie beyond. Many, if not all, world faiths have much in common and learn from each other e.g. Christian and Muslim from Jewish, while Irish Christians learned from existing Pagan traditions already here.
We need to be true to our own faith ~ it gives support and direction in our lives, gives a reason for doing what is good. Diversity is not surprising because there is much out there that we cannot grasp with our limited mental equipment ~ none of us is all that smart! So there are a variety of attempts to grapple with the unknown and the mysterious. We should respect the honest efforts of diverse faith groups. All faiths journey towards the same destination though on different paths.
